What drew you to Oxonian Ventures?

An Oxonian only fund offers something unique: a common bond combined with global diversity of thought and deep domain knowledge. The quality of founders, the rigor of thinking, and the collaborative spirit make it a very compelling platform for investment. I previously engaged with and invested in my undergraduate alma mater’s alumni venture fund, which gave me a deep appreciation for the value such platforms provide to founders. It also reinforced my desire to stay involved in the broader startup ecosystem. In addition, I remain active in the startup and accelerator community in the Asian American Entrepreneur Association (AAEA).

Are there characteristics that you think give Oxonian founders and Oxonian Ventures an edge?

I have found that Oxonian founders stand out for their global mindset, their ability to think across disciplines, and their deep, research‑rooted expertise. They pair this with an entrepreneurial drive and perseverance that are essential for building enduring companies.

The most rewarding aspect of Oxonian Ventures has been the community - interacting and engaging with founders, LPs, and GPs who share a common Oxford heritage but bring diverse expertise. I’ve enjoyed learning from other investors, contributing technical and strategic ideas, and staying close to breakthrough innovation emerging from the Oxford ecosystem. It’s a rare place where the relationships are as valuable as the investments.

What is an important takeaway from your time at Oxford?

Oxford — especially the MBA program — taught me the importance of staying curious, being patient, and connecting ideas across disciplines. I feel that Oxford is an environment that consistently produces this kind of talent.

Advice for Oxonians considering becoming an LP?
