Tell us a little about your experience at Oxford

My time at Oxford was intense, studying for a one year MBA with a 3 year old in tow, I was a little busy! I ran the Oxford Pursuit for our MBA class alongside three others. This was the MBA orientation activity. We continued to run this activity for 10 years, which gave us a reason to relive the Oth week fun again every year.

What is an important takeaway from your time at Oxford?

Developing a global mindset and exposure to big brains are two of the most important takeaways from my time at Oxford.

Are there characteristics that you think give Oxonian founders and Oxonian Ventures an edge?

Oxford founders have a confidence that comes from a technical foundation taught by the best. I know the dedication it takes to be at the top of your game and the Oxford educational training is outstanding. One of the primary advantages for Oxonian founders is having access to the Oxford network. Sectors I perceive to be most fertile for Oxonian founders are healthcare and medtech, human capital and environment.

What drew you to Oxonian Ventures?

My experience at Oxford, and the intimate knowledge of the rigour of the academic pursuit and entrepreneurial spirit, definitely contributed to my decision to invest.

What has been the most rewarding part of being an LP with Oxonian Ventures?

It's inspiring to stay connected to the rising stars that are assembling the capital to take on big goals. For me the most rewarding part is hearing the stories from fellow LPs who have big jobs, busy family lives and are focused on execution.

Advice for Oxonians considering becoming an LP?

The multi-faceted rewards are many. Financial is just one. It is a privilege to have experienced Oxford as a student and this is one way to give back.
